Public Health Careers Nights: 22nd & 28th August

The MSPGH / MPHSA 2013 Careers nights will be held this Thursday and next Wednesday. We have speakers from government, private and research sectors, as well as out-placement and careers consultants generously sharing their time to help YOU navigate your way to a career in public health. Whether you are close to graduating or starting to plan your journey through your studies and towards a career, these events are for you! Please remember to RSVP through the link below.

Careers Night I : Thursday 22nd August, 5:30-7:30pm, Theatre 1 (basement floor), 207 Bouverie St (complete)

  • How to get a job (Paul Jackson, Consultant, Lee Hecht Harrison|DBM)
  • National and State Departments of Health (Mike Ackland Senior Medical Advisor, DoH)
  • Local government, (Micaela Drieberg Mayor, Monash Council)
  • Private sector (Duane Atree Director – Health Advisory, Price Waterhouse Coopers)
  • Q&A & light supper & networking

Careers Night II : Wednesday 28th August, 5:30-7:30pm, Theatre 2 (basement level), 207 Bouverie St

  • How to get a job (Bruce Anderson, Managing Director, Lee Hecht Harrison DBM)
  • Academia: Research by higher degree (via Danya Vears)
  • Local NGOs – Health, development, refugee NGOs (Fiona Sharkie, Executive Director QUIT Victoria) (with brief Q&A)
  • International NGOs (Judith Ascroft, CEO Nossal Institute )
  • Careers and Employment Services at UoM: Yovanna Adamis, Careers Consultant
  • Q&A & light supper & networking
